A group of about 15 year 7 and 8 boys set off to Rollingstone for a bush camp last Wednesday. The boys started their camp off with a worksite visit with one of our partners Bunnings warehouse where some of the lovely staff from Bunnings showed the boys around the store also gave them a tutorial on using mowers and whipper snippers. The boys were super engaged in the activity and asked some ripper questions to the Bunnings staff at the Fairfield Store. Shortly after we then made our way out to the Rollingstone Caravan Park where the boys started to set up the campsite which was going to be home for the next two nights. We finished the first night off with a BBQ and also played some trivia where the boys were able to win some treats if they answered the questions correctly. The next day was jam packed with activities including fishing in the morning at Bagal Beach where unfortunately the boys didn't catch anything but learnt that patience is the key when it comes to fishing. After that they were treated with a special visit to Townsville's Ninja Park where they spent a solid two hours running, climbing and jumping until they were completely tired out. The afternoon activities on that same day included lots of swimming both at Riverway pool and also at the Rollingstone bridge where the boys got to jump off the bridge all afternoon into some cold fresh water.
